SiCourse App: partial unavailability on Tuesday 9th of April 2019 and planned provision of emergency update for SiCourse App on Tuesday 9th of April 2019 5 PM CET - see updated version above, scheduled 6 years ago

Description:

An emergency update has to be installed next week on your iPads to ensure the functionality “download” and “annotate” after 9th of April 2019. The reason is the expiration of a certificate on the 9th of April 2019 2 PM CET – we have to exchange the certificate in the SiCourse App. With the current version a login is not possible after this time.

The proceeding of the installation will be the following – depending on your kind of installation:

  1. Administration about MDM: the plan is to provide the updated SiCourse App on Tuesday 5 PM CET. Please take care that your iPads are starting at this time in the WLAN to get the update immediately and have a look on Wednesday before the course starts if the update was successful. If you get a message for the update, please confirm. We will also monitor the status of the iPads and inform you in case of issues.
  2. Manual installation of the SiCourse App with a MacBook: the plan is to provide the updated SiCourse App on Tuesday as soon the update is available via SECUFEX. Please ensure that the new version is installed on your iPads before Wednesday.

from 09.04.2019 14:00 to 09.04.2019 13:59 CET

Consequences:

Login on SiCourse App is not possible with the current version after 9th of April 2019 14:00

To provide your customers the training documents next week – especially on Tuesday - you have the following options:

  1. Use of the Lightning stick for preparing the iPads with the training materials starting on Monday

  2. Use of the Lightning stick for preparing the iPads with the training materials starting on Tuesday

  3. Login on Tuesday morning and don’t restart the SiCourse App to work as usual. There is a small risk that we can’t provide the update for the SiCourse App not on Tuesday in the evening. In this case the Lightning stick has to be used for Wednesday or in case of a logout.

Sorry about the last-minute announcement. We have tried everything to avoid this unavailability, unfortunately without success.

SiCourse App: Update to the exchange of the certificate in SiCourse APP - emergency update will be provided today (8th of April 2019), scheduled 6 years ago

Good news – we are able to provide the updated SiCourse App today, 8th of April 2019.

Description: An emergency update has to be installed on your iPads to ensure the functionality “download” and “annotate” until 9th of April 2019. The reason is the expiration of a certificate on the 9th of April 2019 2 PM CET – we have to exchange the certificate in the SiCourse App. With the current version (V 3.0.2) a login is not possible after this time.

Consequences - depending on your kind of installation:

  1. Administration about MDM: We will provide the updated SiCourse App (V 3.0.3) today, 8th of April 2019 about 6 PM. Please take care that your iPads are at this time
    in the WLAN to get the update immediately and have a look on Tuesday before the course starts if the update was successful. If you get a message for the update, please confirm. We will also monitor the status of the iPads and inform you in case of issues.

  2. Manual installation of the SiCourse App with a MacBook: We provided the updated SiCourse App today (V 3.0.3), 8th of April 2019 about 3 PM via SECUFEX. Please ensure that the new version is installed on your iPads before Tuesday.

=> After this installation we will not have any unavailability tomorrow and you have not to use one of the options in case of unavailability.

For Trainer iPads we are not able to deliver the new version today. Here we have to follow the normal process – this means during this week – I will inform you asap about any progress. Please use meanwhile Participant iPads.

Restart of OneLMS Servers, scheduled 6 years ago

Description: Restart of OneLMS Servers due to activation of the second Server node for load balancing.

Planned Downtime:

  • from 05.04.2019 17:00 to 05.04.2019 18:00 CET
  • Maximum downtime, usually the applications are available again after ~10 minutes

Consequences:

  • App access not possible
  • App login with CES not possible
  • App login with alternativ loginnot possible
  • App page down-/upload not possible
  • OneLMS webclient not available
  • OneLMS websites not available
  • OneLMS trainerclient not available
